Job Summary

Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization is seeking a Sr Engineering Manager with a passion for problem solving and satisfying customers through the delivery of improvements to the global engineering ecosystem that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across the enterprise. This position is responsible for leading a cross-functional team to provide a variety of services to product engineering that include process management and improvement, training development and delivery, and software tool procurement, development, deployment, and support.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages individual talent and is responsible for a team of contributors

  • Responsible for success (technical, schedule, etc.) of assigned/allocated tasks and activities

  • Leverages advanced principles, theories, and concepts of complex technical subjects to provide direction for employees

  • Assigns resources to work assignments

  • Actively addresses employee performance and development issues

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling responsibilities for team

  • Responsible for the development and technical coaching of staff

  • Provides guidance to direct reports within the latitude of established departmental policies and objectives

  • Responsible for onboarding and assimilation of new hires

  • Interfaces with external agencies, internal customers, tool vendors, and partner organizations within the company to ensure effective two-way communication of needs and results

  • Maintains awareness of technology within the domains of their area of responsibility and develops technology strategies for those domains

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; identified skills and experience.

  • US Citizen/Permanent Resident
